AIDS Awareness Raising Program Started in Rajshahi Radio Station

To create public awareness on HIV/AIDS, a special program titled `Their Voice' will start to be on air from Rajshahi Radio Station at 08:00 pm on Thursday.

Mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh has taken this initiative of broadcasting the special program on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2008. Produced under Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU-MAE) Award, this program will be broadcast through Rajshahi Radio station (Band 105 M) at 08:00 pm on every Thursday night.

This program will contain diversified data and information on the life style and behaviour of the vulnerable communities such as floating sex workers, hotel based sex workers, residential sex workers, brothel-based sex workers, drug users, commercial blood donors, homo-sexual and the transgender. Moreover, each program will comprise of interviews of government, non-government officials, higher officials and AIDS experts from donor agencies and concerned organizations who are working for AIDS prevention.

The program has been produced by media personality G M Mourtoza and organizers of Bangladesh Advanced Students Alliance (BASA), Rajshahi Youth Citizen Forum and Women Empowerment Network (WEN), co-organizations of CCD and the activists of audio-visual production and broadcasting team of CCD are rigorously working to complete the series program.

Radio Program on Transport Workers Broadcasted from Rajshahi Radio

A special radio program titled "Their Story" with the active participation of the transport workers and representatives of the organizations working with them will be broadcast through  Rajshahi Radio at 08 pm on 25 December.

Mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh has taken initiative of broadcasting this special radio program on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2008. This program is being broadcast at 08 pm on every Thursday through Rajshahi Radio Station (105 KHz) under the award program of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.

Organizer of WEN, co-organization of CCD, Marufa Jahan Jemi anchored the program. Media personality G M Mourtoza and Sound Editor of CCD Munir Reza Al Rumi respectively produced and edited the program. Coordinator of Capacity Building Program of CCD Sarder Mohammad Mohiuddin, WEN Coordinator Jannatul Ferdous Ruhi, Sharmin Sultana Falguni  and Najia Quraishi presented interview and reports in the radio program.

Special Program on Women Issues Broadcasted over Rajshahi Radio Station

An especial program titled “Their Talk” with the active participation of the women professionals of different levels has broadcasted over Rajshahi Radio Station at 08.00 pm on 18 December.

Mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh has taken initiative of broadcasting this special radio program on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2008. This program is being broadcast at 08 pm on every Thursday through Rajshahi Radio Station (105 KHz) under the award program of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.

Among others, Professor of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Dr Hasina Akter, Professor of Folklore Department of Rajshahi University Susmita Chowdhury and Lawyer of Rajshahi Judge Court Advocate Nasrin Akter Mita participated in the radio program.

Coordinator of WEN, co-organization of CCD, Pallabi Dey anchored the program. WEN Coordinator Jannatul Ferdous Ruhi, Marufa Jahan Jemi and Ayesha Siddika Aunu presented the interviews and reports in the program. Sound Editor of CCD Munir Reza Al Rumi and media personality G M Mourtoza respectively edited and produced the radio program.  

Radio Program on Floating Sex Workers Broadcasted from Rajshahi Radio Station

A special radio program titled "Their Story" with the active participation of the deprived and neglected floating sex workers and representatives of the organizations with them has broadcasted through Rajshahi Radio Station at 08 pm on 27 November.

Mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh has taken this initiative of broadcasting this program on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2008. This program is being broadcast at 08 pm on every Thursday through Rajshahi Radio Station (105 KHz) under the award program of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.

The program has broadcasted on 27 November was mainly on the perspective of the floating sex workers of Bangladesh. The reasons of the vulnerability of the street based sex workers for HIV/AIDS and the duties to make them free of AIDS risk have been discussed in details in the program. Executive Director of HIV/AIDS and STD Alliance of Bangladesh (HASAB) Dr Najnin Akter, Team Leader of AIDS Prevention Project of Centre for Development Services (CDS) Dr Motiur Rahman, Manager of PIACT Bangladesh Rajshahi Drop-In-Center Azizur Rahman and some street based sex workers actively took part in this radio program. The listeners can win attractive prizes through taking part in the quiz competition based on this program.

Radio Program on Transgender Broadcasted from Rajshahi Radio Station

A special radio program titled "Their Story" with the active participation of the deprived and neglected transgender community and representatives of their organizations has broadcasted through Rajshahi Radio Station at 08 pm on 20 November 2008.

Mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh has taken this initiative of broadcasting this program on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2008. This program is being broadcast at 08 pm on every Thursday through Rajshahi Radio Station (105 KHz) under the award program of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.

The program has broadcasted on 20 November mainly on the perspective of the transgender community of Bangladesh. The reasons of the vulnerability of the transgender for HIV/AIDS and the duties to make them free of AIDS risk have been discussed in details in the program. Executive Director of Bandhu Social Welfare Society Saleh Ahmed, President of Diner Alo Maya Khan, Manager of Light House Rajshahi Office Md Moffajjal Hossain and some transgender people actively took part in this radio program. The listeners can win attractive prizes through taking part in the quiz competition based on this program.
