Teachers
to Play Key Role to Introduce AIDS Education
Rajshahi,
February 26:
Teachers
have been urged to play key role to keep the students
aloof from vulnerable behavior making them aware of
HIV/AIDS.
It
was urged in the orientation on the Role of Teachers in
HIV/AIDS Prevention held at the premises of Rajshahi
Court College on Saturday. Speakers said, mainly
teachers play vital role to build up social value and to
change the behavior of the students. But due to the
prevailing educational system and tendency teachers do
not like to talk to their students on this vital issue
like HIV/AIDS. They have been urged to change their
present psychological state for the greater interest of
the nation and the country.
Mass
communication oriented development organization CCD
Bangladesh and its co-organization Bangladesh Advanced
Students Alliance (BASA) with the support of National
AIDS/STD Program (NASP) and UNICEF organized this
orientation.
Consultant
of National AIDS/STD Program (NASP) Dr Najmul Husssein
facilitated the orientation. Among others, Principal of
the college Md Shafiqur Rahman, Vice Principal Raisuddin,
Program Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai and BASA Organizer
Tofael Ahmmad Ujjol spoke on the occasion. Above 50
teachers and officials of the college actively took part
in the orientation.
Meanwhile,
a networking meeting of CCD Bangladesh and BASA was held
in Puthia Degree College campus this morning. Among
others Program Organizer Tofael Ahmmad and BASA
Organizer Nasim Ahmed addressed the meeting.
