Strong
Movement against Drugs Abuse
Rajshahi,
February 14:
Students
and young people have been urged to initiate strong
movement against drug abuse for the sake AIDS
prevention.
Speakers
said it at the orientation on the Role of Students in
HIV/AIDS Prevention held at the premises of
Rajshahi Court College today. Mass communication
oriented development organization CCD Bangladesh and its
co-organization Bangladesh Advanced Students Alliance
(BASA) with the support of National AIDS/STD Program (NASP)
and UNICEF organized this orientation.
Speakers
also said the most victim of drug abuse are the students
and young people of the community. This deadly curse of
drugs is deteriorating no only their character but also
their dynamic energy and leadership, they added.
Principal
of the college Md Md Shafiqur Rahman attended the
orientation as chief guest. Senior Assistant Professor
of Political Science Department Md Roisuddin and
Assistant Professor of Philosophy Md Moinul Hoque
addressed the function as special guests. Among others,
Program Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai, Program Organizer
Tofael Ahmmad Ujjol, BASA Organizers A S M Anisur Rahman
Litu, A B M Saiful Islam Sumon, Nazrul Islam Rana,
Lutfun Nahar Koruna and Raquibul Hasan Rajib spoke on
the occasion. Above 100 students of the college actively
took part in the orientation.
Meanwhile,
a networking meeting of CCD Bangladesh and BASA was held
in Naohata Degree College campus this morning. Among
others Program Organizer Abu Tayab and BASA Organizer
Nasim Ahmed addressed the meeting.
