Students
Urged to Abstain from Immorality
Rajshahi,
February 15:
Students
and young people have been urged to make themselves
active citizen through keeping them off from any immoral
practice and behavior.
Speakers
urged it at the orientation on the Role of Students in
HIV/AIDS Prevention held at the premises of Rajshahi New
Govt. Degree College today. Mass communication oriented
development organization CCD Bangladesh and its
co-organization Bangladesh Advanced Students Alliance
(BASA) with the support of National AIDS/STD Program (NASP)
and UNICEF organized this orientation.
Speakers
also said most of the students are becoming alarmingly
involved in different anti-social and immoral activities
including drug addiction. Speakers stressed upon the
abstention from these illegal practices and their
involvement in social welfare activities for the
betterment of the nation and to prevent HIV/AIDS.
Principal
of the college Prof Dr Ali Reza Md Abdul Majid attended
the orientation as chief guest. Among others, Assistant
Professor of Philosophy Department Rajia Sultana,
Lecturer of Islamic History Nargis Jahan, Program
Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai, Program Officer Mahfuzur
Rahman Mishu, BASA Organizers Lutfun Nahar Koruna and
Umme Safia Kaniz Flora spoke on the occasion. Above 100
students of the college actively took part in the
orientation.
Meanwhile,
a networking meeting of CCD Bangladesh and BASA was held
in Rajshahi Govt. College campus this morning. Among
others Program Officer Tafael Ahmmad Ujjol and Program
Organizer Abu Tayab addressed the meeting.
